Side tracked...but still here!

I've gotten side tracked from posting but I have still been very busy. Still have made a few cards which I will be sharing again when things slow down. Have had many fun visits with family this summer. Had to dig out my canning equipment this year and have been doing same. Been working on perfecting my sock knitting skills and making gifts. Will post pictures when I get them. Please don't give up on me. Had a bit of a slump but hopefully when events slow down I'll be up and designing again.

Happy Birthday to the USA

I basically did three versions of my 4th of July card. Version 1 and 3 are variations of each other with version 3 having a different configuration on the scalloped mat. I made the 3D decoupage embellishments from images I found on the internet. As soon as I fine tune those a little I will have them on my free 3D link in the right column of this blog. The flags are snack toothpicks I found at Joann's.

DESIGN PACKAGES for Version 2 and Version 3 are for sale at CPS, my selling site.

EDIT: The 3D images for the boy and girl have been added to my free 3D sheets. See side bar on right to access these images.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Birthday Card for My Son-in-Law

Above is the front of the card.

Popup card I made for my son-in-law for his birthday. He enjoys dirt biking and I wanted to do something that fit a theme he was interested in. The popup has two layers: the main layer with the dirt bike and rider, and then a second one behind it with a silhouette of an eagle, mountains, pine tree, lake, etc. The tires on the bike are embroidered as well as a x-stitch design on the top and bottom edges of the card insert. I did a lace` embellishment for the front face of the card. It is included in the cut file package.

This design package is for sale at CPS, my selling site.

Happy Birthday to one of my sweeties...

She turns seven this weekend. Seems like only yesterday when I called her to wish her a happy fifth birthday. She was so excited. "Grandma, I am five and mommy told me that I will never be four again." Probably a memory only a grandmother would cherish. Yes, a popup cake with seven candles. Cut file was created in Inkscape and cut with SCAL. The full cut file will not be available but for those brave enough to try "decorating" this cake themselves I have included, as a freebie, the cut file for the blank card insert. The embroidery design is not included in the cut file.

As always, this is offered for your personal use only and all the specifics listed in the Copyright Information on this blog still apply. Do not re-distribute this to anyone, for any reason, in any format. Please direct any inquiries regarding this design back to me at this site.

This is the front of the card. It is a giant lace` design. Saw it elsewhere on the internet and thought it a great idea for a simple cover to a very busy insert.

This is what the freebie will look like after it is cut out and folded. Have fun!

THE FREEBIE CUT FILES COME IN A ZIPPED FORMAT AND MAY BE DOWNLOADED AS FOLLOWS:

For freebie in the .SCUT file format, click HERE.

For freebie in the .SVG file format, click HERE.

Instructions for folding the popup card are included in each zip file.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a new "member" of our family...

For my daughter's boyfriend. I adapted Card Topper 1 of the Beginner's Embroidery Packet to make this card. As soon as I get all the elements organized, I will be offering the cut file package for sale at CPS. The 3D image was made using a found image on the internet. It is a copyrighted image so this will have to be for my use only. Thanks for looking.

Edit: The cut file package is now available for sale on my CPS selling site. It is listed as "Jar09".

Mother's Day Cards

I had five Mother's Day cards to do this year. If you've been to my new site (affectionately known as "CPS"), you'll recognize the first card. It is from the Beginner's Embroidery Packet, Card Topper 4. I expanded on the original when I made this card and added a shadow mat and made a shaped card base to match. The add-ons are not included with the design package. The topper on the two other cards is the same topper I used for my 2009 Easter cards. This cut file will be available soon on my CPS site.

The embellishments on the cards include 3D decoupage. I made them from found images. The gold embellishments are peel-off stickers. I will eventually offer some of my 3D images as freebies. Haven't settled on the format for offering these yet. EDIT: CHECK "FREE 3D IMAGES" IN THE RIGHT SIDEBAR TO ACCESS THESE IMAGES.

Not too happy with the quality of my pictures. I've been trying to use my scanner rather than taking photographs. May have to go back to the camera.

Edit: The cut file package for the two lower cards is now available for sale on my CPS selling site. It is listed as "Eas09".
